Dear Neighbor,

Since freezing whole birds takes up a lot of room we often take whole birds and cut them into meal sized sections. Since we like smoking meats and they cook faster, in small pieces.  Most accidents in the kitchen come from cutting with dull knives and cutting poultry is a real challenge so I am going to share an easy way to cut chicken bones.

I use a sharp garden clipper. Chicken bones and small branches are about the same density and you will find your garden clipper will snap right through those bones. It is quick, effortless and safe! No more sawing and struggling!

If you don’t already have a pruning sheers, try the gonicc 8″ Professional Tintanium Pruning Sheers. It is durable and super sharp.

Happy Homesteading, Scarlett
